It makes our way of living easier and safer. Many systems on the market can handle this with lots of, even unbelievable, functionalities. Technically everything is possible, but not everybody can or wants to pay for this. So we designed a system that is affordable by anyone, very easy to use and that handles all basic functions needed in home automation. It is designed to be expanded in the future, to cope with new technologies. We will integrate a fully automatic and intelligent heating control. It will maximize comfort and minimize energy consumption to save CO2 production. The AlfaStar will even become a profitable system. With this we deliver our contribution in lowering CO2 exhaust without lowering comfort. On the contrary, the intelligence will switch the heating on or off only when needed. Together with motion detection and door contacts it will prevent from wasting energy. Of course it will be controllable manually at any time. An efficient and affordable system : The "AlfaStar" Above you see the AlfaStar system, modular with extensive functionalities in home control and automation, ready for the future. Applications : - switching ON/OFF of lighting, electrical loads, TV, audio, ... ( any electrical appliance ). Switching the right appliance on the right moment to maximize comfort and minimize energy consumption. - dimming and switching of lighting of any type, with or without transformer. For any situation you can create an ambience, that perfectly fulfills your wishes. Even in combination with curtains, shutters or any other device. - control of shutter, curtains or motors of any kind. Enables wireless control of up to 64 shutters or curtains. It is probably even more flexible and cheaper that solutions from the manufacturers. - switching devices on and/or off at specified times with the built in clock with calendar - switching by motion detection, almost any standard detector can be used. - can handle complex switching with a single button press. - control as a classical installation, with no needs for user guide, but with improved comfort and safety. No need for experts to install it, no special equipment, no complex electronic modules around the building. The controller module, we call it simply the 'controller' , (left on the photo) contains all intelligence. In this module the configuration is stored, which determines which button switches which light or activates a specified ambience. The configuration replaces the normal wiring in classical installations. So wiring is done in software and can change very easily without knowledge of electricity. This configuration is made on a standard PC with the free PC software delivered with every system. The configuration is stored into a non volatile memory so it is preserved even after power failure or restart. Via PC the system can be monitored en controlled. Any action that is defined in the configuration can be tested via the monitoring function. Any change in state of the inputs and outputs can be logged into a file. While the system is wired in the house, you can prepare and test the configuration on your comfortable desk. No needs to sit uncomfortably in a cold and dirty yard. Up to 8 input modules (256 inputs) can be connected. Every input has identical features, 4 events are defined, press, loosen and short and long press. Each button can handle at least 2 different actions, a short press switches a light and a long press can switch off all lights and devices in that room.( description of the input module) The right module is the output module and can drive 32 relays individually, which can control any electrical load or appliance like lights, washing machine, heaters, shutters,.... ( description of the output module) The analogue output module have 8 outputs each able to drive a dimmer ( 0 - 10V ). Via the (software) configuration you can create ambiences and activate these by means of the buttons, sensors or clocks. An extended functionality is provided with which you can even create sequences of ambiences to make dynamic lighting and special effects (shops). The controller module also contains a real-time clock with calendar so any action can also be executed at a specified time. These intelligent modules offers the possibility to change and expand an electrical installation in an easy way without changing any wiring or breaking walls. Changes that took hours or even days can now be handled in minutes without the need for specialized people. Extensions : Heating or airco control : An intelligent heating and airco control will be integrated in the system. It is foreseen for the spring of 2008. Infrared reception : With our small infrared reception module you can switch lights and devices with your universal infrared transmitter. Wireless bluetooth or network communication (LAN/Wifi), is available on demand : By means of your PDA, PC, Portable, or any other bluetooth or WIFI/LAN compatible device it is possible to control the AlfaStar. So you can control any light and device or control the temperature and dimmers from a distance. By using existing technologies and devices to develop our applications, we can keep things reasonably priced.
